Nyuwun Pamit, Sampah!

Nyuwun Pamit, Sampah!, (Goodbye, Trash! in Javanese language) is a collaborative project with Enviu in attempt to reduce the usage of plastic packaging from groceries by incentivizing people in Banyuwangi who purchase groceries with reusable packaging provided. I illustrated and designed the flyer, with the content provided by Enviu.

The base of the flyer is digitally printed, while some illustrations and program tagline are printed with the stamping method to mimic batik cap (stamping) process using laser cut stamps made of recycled plywood. The papers were collected from used paper bags I have collected in the UK, to reinforce the reuse value within the physicality of the work. The illustrations represent elements present in Banyuwangi such as the beach and Gajah Oling batik, side by side with the reusable products offered by Enviu. The creases and folds of the used paper bags also created imperfections in the prints, resulting in the irregularity of handmade products.
